Police Youth Academy


Mission: Guide young adults to a better path for the future through training, leadership, teamwork, and discipline and to assist others through community service.

Purpose:

  • Increase awareness in public safety and crime prevention
  • Educate students in the cost and consequences of crime and their ability to bring about meaningful change within the community
  • Foster better relationships between the community and the police force
  • Introduce opportunities for careers in law enforcement

  • Meeting Information
    • Every Tuesday
    • 1700- 1900 (5:00pm-7:00pm)
  • There will be no cost to the student or parent

Admission and Selection:

  • Applications for the 2022-2023 Academic School Year are currently being accepted.
  • Important Dates to Know
    • September 2nd, 2022               Applications Available for Download
    • October 31st, 2022                   Application Return Deadline
    • November 14th 2022               Letters for Interview Emailed to Cadets
    • November 28th, 2022                Interviews Begin at City Hall
    • December 12th, 2022                 Letters of Acceptance Emailed to Cadets
    • January 3rd and 5th, 2023        Parent Orientation for New Cadets
    • January 10th, 2023                   First Day of Youth Academy for New Cadets
    • January 17th, 2023                  First Class for All Cadets

Current Cadets who were accepted from the 2021-2022 year will not have to repeat the application process.
