Police Youth Academy
Mission: Guide young adults to a better path for the future through training, leadership, teamwork, and discipline and to assist others through community service.
Purpose:
- Increase awareness in public safety and crime prevention
- Educate students in the cost and consequences of crime and their ability to bring about meaningful change within the community
- Foster better relationships between the community and the police force
- Introduce opportunities for careers in law enforcement

- There will be no cost to the student or parent
Admission and Selection:
- Applications for the 2022-2023 Academic School Year are currently being accepted.

- November 14th 2022 Letters for Interview Emailed to Cadets
- November 28th, 2022 Interviews Begin at City Hall
- December 12th, 2022 Letters of Acceptance Emailed to Cadets
- January 3rd and 5th, 2023 Parent Orientation for New Cadets
- January 10th, 2023 First Day of Youth Academy for New Cadets
- January 17th, 2023 First Class for All Cadets
Current Cadets who were accepted from the 2021-2022 year will not have to repeat the application process.
