The City of Reading Purchasing Division is dedicated to providing the highest quality goods and services for the City in a cost-effective manner.  The City’s purchasing process follows the Third Class City Code.

All purchases in excess of $10,000 are formally bid. All formal bids are advertised in the local newspaper, listed on this website, and generally require a bid bond equal to 10% of the bid amount. All City of Reading bid documents can be acquired by contacting the Purchasing Division at the address or number listed above.
