Shooting Investigation
RPD is releasing additional information about a shooting that happened 9/13


READING - September 15
th: The Reading Police Department, Criminal Investigations Division, is releasing the following information relating to a shooting investigation that occurred on September 13th inthe area of Muhlenberg Street & Wunder Street at approximately 7:41 pm.


The Reading Police Department was called to the area of Muhlenberg Street & Wunder Street for a report of a male who was shot. The victim, a 41-year-old male, was found shot multiple times after he fled the location of the shooting on foot. The victim was transported to Tower Health Reading Hospital for treatment.


C.I. Ryan Crampsie was able to identify Roberto Torres-Pérez as the suspect. A warrant for Criminal Attempt Homicide and related charges was completed and approved for Torres-Perez.


On September 14th, The Reading Police Department received a tip that Torres-Perez was broadcasting a social media live stream asking people for money so that he could flee the area. Police were able to identify his location from the video. Torres-Pérez was taken into custody while still broadcasting to his followers.
