SHOOTING INVESTIGATION
The Reading Police Department is seeking the public ’s assistance
in identifying homicide suspects.

READING – August 26, 2022: Relative to the previous media release contained below, the Reading Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is releasing the following information.

“Through our investigation , we are seeking assistance in identifying the 2 unknown males in the attached video ,” said Criminal Investigator Nicholas Epolito. “These males were seen in the general area of the incident for several minutes prior to the shooting.

We are asking anyone who may have seen or interacted with the individuals to contact us. Any details, no matter how small , may be helpful in moving this investigation forward and achieving justice for Mr. Ceballos. ”

READING – August 22, 2022 The Reading Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is releasing the following information relating to a Shooting Investigation that occurred in the 300 block of McKnight St Reading on 08/21/2022 at approximately 6:00 pm. This incident resulted in the death of Josmar Ceballos, a 28 -year-old male. A 49-year-old male was also injured in this incident.

The Reading Police Department was called to the 300 Block of McKnight Street for a male who was reportedly shot. When Police arrived On -Scene, they located Mr. Ceballos deceased in the block.

The other male was transported to Tower Health, Reading Hospital prior to Police arrival , where he was treated. Both males were struck by gunfire.

We have received reports that 2 males were seen walking in the area with masks on leading up to the shooting. If anyone can provide information regarding these masked males or any other information on this incident , please contact The Reading Police Department at 610-655-6116.
