Reading - August 1, 2022: The Berks County Conservation District Mosquito-Borne Disease Program will be conducting a truck-mounted, ultra-low volume (ULV) mosquito control operation in Reading City, focusing on the areas of 11th and Union streets and Charles Evans Cemetery due to the high levels of West Nile carrying mosquitoes. Residential and recreational areas will be sprayed to control adult mosquitoes. The control work will begin around dusk on Monday, August 1st. TODAY

High populations of adult mosquitos capable of transmitting WNV have been detected in these areas.

The truck-mounted ULV spray will be conducted by Berks County Conservation District. I will be on-site for the application. The business license for Berks County is BU 1391 and my applicator's license is #71300. The product used will be AquaDuet applied at a rate of 1.0 oz/ac or less. This product is designed to provide quick knockdown and effective control of adult mosquitoes.

Weather conditions and other unexpected events could delay or cancel this spray operation. If this operation is canceled, it will be rescheduled for Wednesday, August 3rd. Please contact me via email or phone at (610) 372-4657 ext 218 if you have any questions or concerns.
