Trash and Recycling Collection will Begin Earlier Due to Excessive Heat
READING, PA – July 18, 2022: Due to the excessive heat expected this week and concern for worker safety, as referenced in the contract between Republic Services and the City of Reading, City Officials have decided to waive the 6 am start time for solid wasteand recycling collection.

The Mayor or Managing Director has the right to waive this rule in the interest of worker safety. This will allow City Solid Waste and Recycling collection workers to begin collection at 5:00 am on Tuesday, July 19th through Friday, July 22nd.
