RPD is issuing an arrest warrant for a suspect in yesterday’s shooting on Spring Street.
READING: The Reading Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is releasing the following information relating to a shooting that occurred Monday, April 11th, on the 1000 block of Spring Street.
On Monday, April 11, 2022, at approximately 1005 hours, the Reading Police Department received a call for a shooting in the 1000 block of Spring Street.
Patrol officers arrived at the location and located an 18-year-old male who had been shot one time in the upper left leg. A Reading Fire Department ambulance transported the male to the trauma center at Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
During the course of the investigation, we learned that an argument occurred inside a home in the 1000 block of Spring Street between the victim and another 18-year-old male, Gisaiah Delgado.
Gisaiah left the home and entered a nearby alleyway, followed by the victim. As the victim approached the alleyway, Gisaiah ran toward the victim with a gun and shot the victim. The victim then falls into the roadway on Spring Street.
Gisaiah then approaches the victim and helps him back to his feet. Gisaiah then chases the victim a short distance before he re-enters the home that he left. Gisaiah fled the house through the rear prior to officers arriving.
Gisaiah was under juvenile probation supervision at the moment of this incident.
Gisaiah Delgado is still at large, and an active arrest warrant has been issued for him. He is presumed to be armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to immediately contact the Police Department non-emergency line at 610-655-6116.
