HOMICIDE ARREST
Chief Tornielli announces apprehension related to Sunday's shooting

READING - The Reading Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is releasing the following informaion relating to the Shooting Investigaion that occurred in the 200 block of West Greenwich Street , on February 20, 2022, at approximately 0710 hrs. This shooting resulted in the deaths of Jose Ventura-Jimnez, 18 years old, and a 17-year -old male juvenile (name not being released to the media).

The investigation led by Criminal Investigator Ryan Crampsie resulted in an arrest warrant being issued against NyJee Jefferson of Philadelphia for First Degree Murder , Third Degree Murder and lesser included charges .

Jefferson was taken into custody on 02/20/2022 in Phladelphia on an unrelated Parole Violation warrant . He is current ly in custody in Philadelphia County pending arraignment on these homicide charges.
