MAYOR MORÁN ANNOUNCES CITY HALL REOPENING DATE
READING – January 26, 2022: Mayor Eddie Morán today released the following statement regarding the reopening of City Hall on Monday, January 31st, with strict protocols remaining to
continue addressing Covid-19 in the City of Reading and Berks County.
“Due to a decreased number of Covid-19 cases in the City of Reading and Berks County, CityHall will reopen on Monday, Jan. 31st. However, we will continue with the implementation of
protocols in order to ensure maximum safety for our employees as well as members of the public.Mask wearing will continue, especially when responsible social distancing cannot be achieved.
This includes the corridors in City Hall at all times. Virtual meetings will continue as a standard operating procedure to minimize in-person contact. Visitors will be required to wear masks regardless of their vaccination status. Please note that signage at the public entrances has been replaced in English and Spanish.
I thank all of our fine City employees – and members of the public - for their full cooperation during these difficult times as we continue providing services while keeping City Hall, the City
of Reading, and our entire community safe.”
During the closure, cleaning schedules were elevated on every floor of City Hall and will continue after reopening.
