MAYOR MORÁN ANNOUNCES STORYTIME EVENT CELEBRATING HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

READING – September 27th: Today, Mayor Eddie Morán released the following statement
regarding a Reading Public Library storytime event he will take part in. As part of the Hispanic Heritage Month event series, Mayor Eddie Morán announces he will participate in a storytime reading at The Northwest Branch of the Reading Public Library.

"It is a tremendous honor, and I cannot wait to spend time with Reading youth," said Mayor Morán. "I have wanted to do something with our local libraries for a long time now, but it has been very challenging because of the pandemic. Now I have the opportunity to have a memorable exchange with the kids, highlighting cultural diversities and celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.

I believe in the power of representation and visibility. I know that by spending time with our youth, these kids will be inspired and empowered by someone who looks like them and has come from a similar background."

"The Northwest Branch of the Reading Public Library is excited to welcome the first Latino Mayor of Reading, Eddie Morán, for "Storytime" celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month," said Rob Martin, Branch Director. "Reading has historically been a city of immigrants, and our Hispanic population has grown exponentially in the Northwest Branch's area.

We want to celebrate all of the communities and their contributions. The Northwest Branch, built in 1939, has grown to become a very active part of the community. We are currently offering services such as Autism Acceptance, STEM learning, and Homework Help. Having the Mayor here is our
way to celebrate our Hispanic community." The Mayor extends the invitation to all media outlets.

EL ALCALDE MORÁN ANUNCIA ACTIVIDAD LECTURA DE CUENTOS CELEBRANDO EL MES DE LA HERENCIA HISPANA

READING - 27 de septiembre: Hoy, el alcalde Eddie Morán emitió el siguiente comunicado
sobre un evento de lectura de cuentos de la Biblioteca Pública de Reading en el que participará. Como parte de la serie de eventos del Mes de la Herencia Hispana, el alcalde Eddie Morán anuncia que participará en una lectura de cuentos en la sucursal del noroeste de la Biblioteca Pública de Reading.

"Me siento honrado y no puedo esperar para pasar tiempo con la juventud de Reading", dijo el alcalde Morán. "He querido hacer algo con nuestras bibliotecas locales durante mucho tiempo, pero ha sido un gran desafío debido a la pandemia. Ahora tengo la oportunidad de tener un intercambio inolvidable con los niños, destacando las diversidades culturales y celebrando el Mes de la Herencia Hispana. Creo en el poder de la representación y la visibilidad. Sé que al pasar tiempo con nuestra juventud, estos niños se sentirán inspirados y empoderados por alguien que se parece a ellos y
