Reading Mayor Eddie Morán Announces Adjustments Partners With the Reading Public Library to Get Eligible Residents Vaccinated
READING - Today, Mayor Eddie Morán of the City of Reading issued the following statement:
"COVID-19 has changed many residents' way of life and has been very challenging for those not familiar with technology. This has mainly impacted older adults who also need access to information and health care.
I'm continuously looking for ways to help our communities, especially those that are considered to be disadvantaged. Since most of the process to get vaccinated has to be done online, our Reading Public Library is there to remind our constituents that resources are available.
All four library branches have computers, internet Wi-Fi connection, along with bilingual assistance. Everyone should have online access to reserve their vaccinations."
Bronwen Gamble, Executive Director, Reading Public Library, added the following statement:
"We want residents and members of the community to know that we are open and ready to welcome everyone. While we already assist people of all ages with information, programs, and online access, we are pleased to be able to provide registration assistance for vaccination appointments to our senior citizens.
Our staff is not only trained but enthusiastic to assist residents of Reading with the help they need."
