Reading Fire Department & Mayor Morán to Commemorate
25th Anniversary of September 11th Attacks with Memorial Service.
Reading, PA: The Reading Fire Department’s September 11th Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 8:43am, to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the terrorist attack on the United States at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and at Somerset, Pennsylvania. The service will be held at the September 11th “Memorial Tree” in City Park. If you are unable to attend you can watch live on the City of Reading, PA – Government Facebook page or via the City of Reading Municipal Access Channel (MAC) and online at BCTV.org/Live/MAC
The service will honor all victims who perished in the attacks, but as a fire department, the ceremony will specifically focus on the 343 New York City firefighters who attempted to change the dreadful outcome of the day’s events but were ultimately killed in the collapse of the World Trade Center Towers.
In addition, Mayor Eddie Morán has ordered City Hall and the Pagoda be illuminated in red, white and blue in remembrance of the lives lost and in honor of the strength and unity of our nation.
