Reading Police Arrest Suspect in Lancaster Avenue Homicide Investigation
Reading, PA: On July 10, 2026, at approximately 2:00 a.m., officers from the Reading Police Department were dispatched to the 500 block of Lancaster Avenue for a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located two adult males with possible gunshot wounds. The victims were identified as a 57-year-old male and Alex Rosado-Laboy, 45, both of Reading.
During the preliminary investigation, officers determined that the suspect, Amaury Rosado-Laboy (DOB: 04/18/1983), forcibly entered the residence and, during the incident, allegedly shot both victims, causing serious injury to the 57-year-old male victim and fatally injuring Alex Rosado-Laboy. Amaury Rosado-Laboy then fled the scene and later allegedly stole a vehicle before fleeing the state.
On July 11, 2026, Amaury Rosado-Laboy was taken into custody by the Woodbury Police Department in Orange County, New York. Rosado-Laboy is currently awaiting extradition back to Berks County to be arraigned on charges of:
First-Degree Murder
Second-Degree Murder
Attempted First-Degree Murder
Burglary
Theft of a Motor Vehicle
