Mayor Morán Announces City Hall Closure and Service Updates Due to Inclement Weather.

Reading, PA: In response to adverse weather conditions, Mayor Eddie Morán has declared the closure of City Hall on Tuesday, February 13th, 2024. The decision aims to ensure the safety and well-being of both employees and residents.

Due to the inclement weather, Trash & Recycling collection for today has been cancelled. To manage the disruption, the city will implement a modified holiday schedule for the remainder of the week. Residents are advised to adjust their waste disposal routine as follows:

Wednesday, February 14th: Tuesday collection

Thursday, February 15th: Wednesday collection

Friday, February 16th: Thursday collection

Saturday, February 17th: Friday collection

Scheduled street sweeping has been cancelled for today, and residents are advised to keep an eye on further announcements regarding the rescheduling of street sweeping activities.

Employees authorized to work from home are encouraged to do so today to maintain continuity in city operations. Mayor Eddie Morán emphasizes the importance of prioritizing safety during these challenging weather conditions.
