The City of Reading got money from the federal government to understand what the community needs for health information. So, the City and its partners started the Advancing Health Literacy team. They talked to people in the community to find out what problems they have with their health and what they need to make it better. By listening carefully, the team made things easier for everyone. They set up mobile vaccination clinics that travel to different places, so people can get the covid 19 vaccines easily. They also made health information available in both Spanish and English. This helps everyone understand important health details. The team worked with the community and health care groups to help people get better medical care. The health care groups put up clearer signs so people can find the right places. They also trained some staff as interpreters to help people who speak different languages. The changes the health care groups made were based on what the community told our team.
