POSITION SUMMARY:
Typical job duties may include but are not limited to:
- Perform a variety of clerical, administrative, and general office duties and functions;
- Provide customer service in person and by telephone;
- Have strong customer service skills;
- Maintain and handle highly confidential and sensitive information and process personnel action;
- Creates and maintain City personnel records and files;
- Assist in the creation of personnel files for employees by reviewing, scanning, indexing, and entering information;
- Review and verify compliance with laws, rules, regulations, and policies IAW with Personnel Systems;
- Assist with Benefit Coordinator, Payroll Administrator, and HR Generalist functions;
- Assist with processes of new employee packets, orientation, and civil service packets;
- Able to maintain record keeping and multi-task;
- Able to process correspondence; Receive, sort, and distribute mail;
- Complete change of address request in accordance with established policy;
- Make and keep up with changes to employee personnel file information;
- Assist with providing employees with authorized users;
- Receive and screen telephone calls by providing appropriate answers on rules and regulations;
- Compose and type letters and routine correspondence;
- Assist with reception desk coverage;
- Perform quality assurance of new employee data information; and,
- Assist the HR department with additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- Must have High School diploma or equivalent;
- Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
- Have at least two years’ experience with Microsoft Office Products;
- Must be able to type minimum of 35 Words Per Minute with accuracy;
- Proficient with computers.
This is a Part-time (up to 28 hours per week)
