Applicant must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid driver's license and pass a background check
 

Applicants for Paramedic must be a Pennsylvania EMT-P, PHRN, National Registry Paramedic, or currently enrolled in an accredited paramedic program.  Applicants must be certified and eligible at time of appointment.
 

Completed applications must be returned to City of Reading, Human Resources Office Suite 3-03, 815 Washington St, Reading, PA 19601. Applicants will receive notification of the date and time for the written examination. A non-refundable check or money order made payable to the City of Reading in the amount of $50.00. Application closing date will be September 1, 2023.

The training division provides new techniques and refresher training for career members. They provides various training sessions for other City Departments. They also conduct product review and recommendations.
