Pow Wow is said to be a collection of European magic spells, recipes, and folk remedies of a type familiar to students of folklore. The formulas mix Christian prayers, magic words, and simple rituals to cure simple domestic ailments and rural troubles. Practitioners served rural folks with ways to heal common maladies. Learn about the history of this practice and discuss techniques and hear about some people who were treated in this program for teens and adults.
