Public Notice - Amendment To The PY2018 CDBG Action Plan

Notice is hereby given that on March 11, 2019 the Council of the City of Reading will consider the following amendment to the PY2018 CDBG Action Plan.

 

To approve/deny a Council Resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a PY2018 CDBG Action Plan Amendment to cancel the Penn Street Fire Station Project and to add the Purchase of Two Fire Trucks.

$1,100,000 in unprogrammed CDBG funds will be used for the purchase.

 

Fire Truck Apparatus - Engine 1 will be housed at 8th and Court Sts. Fire Station. The service area for a primary response are Census Tracts 1,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22, which contains 77.09% low and moderate income level persons.  The activity’s service area for a 1st Alarm is Citywide which contains 72.7% low and moderate income level persons.

 

Fire Truck Apparatus - Engine 5 will be housed at the Southwest Fire Station 101 Lancaster Ave. The service area for a primary response are Census Tracts 22,23,25,26,27,29 which contain 68.24 % low and moderate income level persons.  The activity’s service area for a 1st and 2nd Alarm is Citywide which contains 72.7% low and moderate income level persons.

 

The activity’s eligibility / fundability is fire protection equipment 24CFR570.207 (b) (1) (ii) and public facilities and improvements 24CFR570.201(c) / low mod area 24CFR570.208 (a) (1).
