Re: 2018 Stadium Commission Activities

From: Annarose Ingarra-Milch, Chairperson

Date: January 30, 2018

As Chairperson of the Stadium Commission it is with pleasure that I submit the following update regarding the activities of the Stadium Commission for the year 2018.

Over the course of 2018 the Stadium Commission met six times, in accordance with procedures. In January 2018, we meet with General Manager, Scott Hunsicker regarding capital improvements projects. It was approved that the 2018 allocation of capital improvement funds in the amount of $5,000 be released, upon completion of improvements made to increase safety on the worn-out decking along the left field patio as well as the pool picnic area. In July, Mr. Ralph Johnson allocated the funding.

Mr. Hunsicker will be invited to our January, 2019 meeting to review other needed capital improvements.

Collectively, commissioners and liaisons, represented the city at opening days at the First Energy Stadium and Dream League Field as well as at the Phillies Caravan. Commissioners and liaisons, acting as ambassadors volunteered for Baseballtown Charities at various games and events throughout the season. The volunteer hours totaled 75. These hours are above and beyond the required meeting hours.

The Board of Ethics approved the receipt of Fightins Phils shirts to be worn when volunteering at the Stadium or representing the team and city. Commissioners and liaisons paid for their shirts in 2018.

In August, Mr. Rick D'Nunzio's five (5) year term as commissioner expired and he did not seek reappointment. Mr. Kevin Graybill was removed from the commission, upon Council being notified of his failure to attend more than 50% of the scheduled meetings.

Liaisons Councilman Strat Marmarou and Director of PW Ralph Johnson have been extremely helpful with their working knowledge and willingness to assist the commissioners and the baseball franchise.

2019 is looking to be an activity-filled year for the Commission. Our goal is to continue our active involvement with the franchise and to bring on-going value to both the City and the Stadium.
