About the Reading Police Department

A Message from the Chief of Police:

On behalf of the dedicated men and women of the Reading Police Department (RPD), I welcome you to our city webpage. The RPD is proud to serve our residents, businesses and visitors. We are committed to our mission of public safety through pro-active policing strategies, while maintaining the highest level of ethical standards and building trust throughout the community.

Our goal of community involvement and outreach has allowed us to earn the confidence and support of our community and city leaders. Through these community partnerships we will continue to build upon our successes, and improve the quality of life for those who live, learn, work and visit our City. This trust and support is not taken for granted and we understand that we have to continue working to maintain it.

This webpage is one of the many ways the City of Reading Police Department strives to engage and keep our community members informed. I hope that you will find the information contained here to be helpful in learning about our department and ways to access the services we provide.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our webpage and engaging in the City’s initiative to keep our neighborhoods safe as we all continue to work to build a better Reading together.
