City of Reading Police Department - Student Internship Program

The Reading Police Department currently offers a Student Internship Program (non-paying) to College level students desiring to pursue a career in Law Enforcement and who must complete an internship as part of their academic requirements. Students wishing to apply must be either a Junior or Senior, at least 18 years of age, and supply a letter of request from their academic advisor. Internships last approximately 40 hours and the students are placed in many areas of our operation with the exception of the Vice Section. Consideration is given on a first come, first served basis, with City residents receiving preference. Otherwise, only students attending Albright, Alvernia, or RACC are accepted into the program. Interested parties can call the Chief's Office at 610-655-6241 or the Chief's Administrative Assistant at 610-655-6303.
