UPDATED FLOOD INFORMATION

Reading (June 29, 2006) - The Mayor and the City of Reading Water Authority have rescinded all water restrictions, placed upon the local community on Wednesday, June 28, 2006 due to the flooding of the Maiden Creek and the Schuylkill Rivers. The water is safe for consumption and all customers can continue their normal usage of the water system.

The Schuylkill River has reduced its flood stage to 15’ as of 11:25 this a.m. Thursday morning, June 29, 2006. Residents and businesses are now going through the process of getting back into the flooded area. An Emergency Command Station has been established in the area for the affected community.

Residents dealing with clean-up of their homes may reference materials supplied by the American Red Cross, both in English and Spanish on the City of Reading’s website www.readingpa.gov.
