MAYOR TOM MCMAHON AND READING BERKS CONFERENCE OF
CHURCHES ANNOUNCE COMMUNITY MAYORS’ PRAYER BREAKFAST

June 13, 2007: Mayor Tom McMahon of the City of Reading and the Reading Berks Conference of Churches announced today that the featured speaker for the Annual Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast will be Lenny Moore.

Lenny Moore is a football legend and former Reading High football standout, Penn State leading rusher, and inaugurated into the Hall of Fame while playing with Baltimore Colts as a Running Back. He will be speaking on his “Run to the Goal.” Join us as he shares his story of adversity, triumph and perseverance of faith.

Mayor McMahon remarked “that all in Greater Reading should be excited that we are getting Lenny Moore to return to his roots. We are pleased that the legendary Mr. Moore is coming from Baltimore to spend some time within us and relate how he is still continuing to learn and give back to his community.”

Mr. Moore states that he is “looking forward to the breakfast and above all, it will be good to come home and see family and friends.”

The Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast is an annual event to raise awareness for the Reading Berks Conference of Churches and their programs. The Reverend Calvin Kurtz, Executive Director of the Reading Berks Conference of Churches welcomes the “opportunity for churches, businesses and civic organizations to unite and collaborate with common goals and visions over a morning breakfast.”

The breakfast will be held at the Sheraton Reading Hotel on Tuesday, September 25th, registration begins at 7:15a, breakfast served at 7:30a

Additional information on tickets and sponsorship for the Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast can be obtained from the Reading Berks Conference of Churches at 610-375-6108.
