CHANGZHI DELEGATION TO VISIT CITY OF READING

For immediate release/November 3, 2005: Mayor Tom McMahon of Reading, Pennsylvania will welcome Deputy Mayor Heping Ma and a municipal delegation of fourteen members from sister city Changzhi Municipal People’s Government, Shanxi Province on Friday, November 4th at 1:30 p.m. in Council Chambers of City Hall. The purpose of this trip is to pay a formal visit between the two Mayors and continue the collaborative sister city relationship which was established twelve years ago with Reading based firm, Dimensions Inc. Representatives from Dimensions will be at the afternoon event.

Mayor McMahon said that “We have certainly seen the benefits for our young people in schools who have the opportunity to experience a foreign language and engage in travel opportunities in a foreign country. It is my hope that we can help our citizens increase their participation at every level - cultural, economic and educational - to further these exchange relationships.”
