The Fire Civil Service Board of the City of Reading, Pennsylvania announces that applications are now being accepted for the position of Firefighter/EMT and Firefighter/Paramedic in the Reading Fire Department.
Printed applications are available from either Fire Administration or Human Resources located in City Hall, 815 Washington Street, Reading, PA 19601 or at the office of the Solicitor, Stephen H. Price, Esquire, 520 Walnut Street, Reading, PA 19601.

Applicants must be 18 years of age and must hold a valid driver’s license. Applicants for Paramedic must be Eastern PA Emergency Medical Services Council Medical Command or National Registry or PHRN.
Applications must be completed and returned in person to Stephen H. Price, Esquire, Solicitor, 520 Walnut Street, Reading, PA 19601 (610-376-1515) by close of business (4:00 p.m.) on March 9, 2012. The application must be accompanied with a check or money order made payable to the City of Reading in the amount of $50.00. Applicants will receive notification of the date and time for the written examination.
The top 75 scores in both categories and those with Veteran’s Preference will move forward with the physical agility testing. Applicants passing on to the physical agility testing will be notified in writing. Remaining test dates to be determined.
