City Council

Jeffrey S. Waltman
District 6

Jeffrey S. Waltman, Sr. acts as City Council member representing District 6 in the City of Reading, serving in office since 2000. Council appointed Waltman to serve as Vice President in 2004 and once again in 2006. He is a member of the City Council Housing, Economic Development and Strategies Committee, Public Safety, Public Works and Neighborhood Services Committee, and is a member of the Reading Area Transportation Study group, which is the decision making body regarding all state and federal highway projects for the Berks County region.

Waltman attended Milton Hershey School, focusing on business curriculum. He is a graduate of the Pace Institute and has taken various business courses at Penn State Berks Campus. He is currently employed as the Vice President of Sales & Marketing for FirstStates Financial Services Corp.

Mr. Waltman is a strong problem solver who works to build cohesiveness between City Council and the City Administration, and remains independent and diligent in his decision making. Waltman considers his experience on council thus far to be a tremendous asset in leading issues on crime, codes enforcement, and overall council actions. During his term on City Council, Waltman has also fought hard for historic and land preservation in his efforts to preserve the valued assets inherited by our entire community. With ancestor ties to the city of well over 100 years, Mr. Waltman is highly committed to the success of the greater Reading area.
