Stephen Fuhs anticipates great improvements for Reading
as he takes on the responsibility of Council member
of the 1st District. Fuhs is the first Republican
since 1998 to be elected to the Reading City Council.
Stephen is married to his lovely wife Margaret; with
both being the proud parents of their two children,
Steven and Andrea. Fuhs earned his Bachelor’s
degree in business from Mount Saint Mary’s College
and his Masters degree in business administration
from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia,
PA.

as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the
Miss America pageant. Additionally, Stephen has worked
as a special agent for the Secret Service and marketing
representative for IBM. The bulk of Fuh’s professional
career has been spent in the health care and health
services industry, as he has served as District Executive
Director for the Pennsylvania Department of Health
since being appointed to that office in 1999 by then

Fuhs recognizes the call of Reading for drastic
change and improvement. He believes that this will be achieved
by a cooperative renewal between citizens, community groups
and government. This cooperation, Fuhs believes, will increase
financial benefits through a collaborative effort between
city and county officials. A man with experience and an
open mind, Stephen looks forward to hearing from citizens
and city officials alike in order to take Reading to new
heights of success and prosperity.
